More About Jesus

To learn more about Jesus, we need to look into his holy word, the Bible. We can study his word to learn what a person needs in order to receive eternal salvation, how to serve him in this world, and how to honor and glorify him.

We invite you to visit with us in our services. Visitors are always welcome, and we encourage open discussion in our Bible studies. Come and learn with us the truth from God’s word.

About Our Church

Edgewood Missionary Baptist Church is a body of saved, baptized believers working together to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. The church is modeled according to the design that Jesus gave when he first called out his church during his personal ministry (Matthew 4:17-22).

We strive to follow the original pattern of the church given in the the New Testament and to fufill the commission that the Lord gave to his churches to "teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you."

We are a vital local body that has an intimate relationship with our only head: The Lord Jesus Christ. This relationship with our Lord is manifested by our love for one another.

We do not believe that you need to be a member of Edgewood Missionary Baptist Church to be saved, nor that we have the only true church. We do believe, however, that the life of the believer was meant to be lived in the fellowship of a local church, and that true churches bear the identifying marks of a scriptural New Testament church as described in the Bible.

About Our Pastor

Brother Jeff Barron, pastor of Edgewood Missionary Baptist Church, surrended to the Lord’s call to preach on April 3, 1971. While he has his beginnings in California, he has been a pastor in Georgia since 1979.

He is a husband, daddy, and grandpa to a family that loves him. In fact, many affectionally call him “Brother Jeff!”

He loves the Word of God and strives to care for and feed the church the Lord has entrusted him to protect through careful teaching of the Bible. “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood” (Acts 20:28).

Associations

Edgewood Missionary Baptist Church is a self-governing, independent local body whose only head is the Lord Jesus Christ. The church fellowships with like-minded churches in the Faith for the purpose of cooperating in mission work and church edification. However, the associations do not have any authority over this or any other church.
